CAMtask has supplied applications support and consultancy to the DML in Plymouth. DML are currently involved with a large project designed to make common parts using a “click-of-a-button” selection. The idea is that the user can generate a STEP file that is used by EdgeCAM in the production of the selected part.

Conversion of CNC part programs from Desitech to Rye format

Here the project featured the following scenario…

The customer had 2000 programs for a machine tool which was due to be sold, a Desitech router. The part programs would need conversion to a format for a newer machine tool with a similar control. A windows based solution was needed to convert the programs on an "as needed basis". Key differences are Gcode, Mcode, Toolchanges, Circle I's and J's etc.

The solution required a bespoke Visual Basic program.
